On the Beach
Website Special, June 2003

Beach bonfires are great fun. But if you're making one this summer, avoid
those big chunks of lumber from old wharfs and docks. They are almost
always made from CCA treated wood, and burning them releases highly
poisonous gases containing arsenic and chromium.  You don't want that in
your lungs.  Stick to burning driftwood and breathing salt air.
